Printing

“Don’t judge a book by its cover,” isn’t that what we have always been taught? First impressions are just a fact of life and your product is not going to be an exception. What better way to give off the great first impression than by showing off the quality of your packaging. An elegantly printed case will give you that “Wow” effect which will get the product in your customer’s hand.

Silk Screen Printing

All case packaging can be printed in a verity of manners. ArionKase.com shows those differing styles off. Silk-screen printing can be done on small quantity orders or aluminum, tin and wood packaging through ArionKase. Silk-screen printing can go up to 6 colors and these are applied through screens, with each color getting its own screen. Once the screen is laid down, a squeegee is used to apply the appropriate color. Silk-screen printing only allows for spot color non-gradiated printing. Each color needs its own artwork with registration points that allow them to be applied separately but in the precise manner. This printing is done after the case has been made so you are going to have the material itself showing at edges or on entire sides. Silkscreen is useful for small runs of simple print designs.

Offset Printing

The third style of printing is offset print. Offset printing really allows for creativity as it provides the ability for full coverage of the tin products along with the ability to print on the inside as well. Offset printing is done to the sheet of tin that a package is going to be made out of. The sheet is fed through a printer and the plate with the artwork prints it before it is sent to be molded. You can gradiate the colors and create different print designs to literally make your art sparkle. A glossy coating or a matte coating can be applied to enhance your artwork. The gloss coat will give you a shiny finish, while the matte provides an antique look.

Imprinting

The fourth style of printing is imprinting. Imprinting brings out highlights the feeling of wood through the use of hot irons and stamps. With a hot iron directly on the wood you burn printed lines and even bring out shades of different printing methods. Due to heat when the time stamp is applied, the imprint is not always the same so the brand on the wood can be darker or lighter. This allows for uniqueness even within the same artwork.

Offset Paper Printing

The second style of printing is offset paper printing specifically for wood case projects. Offset paper printing similarly provides the ability for full coverage of the wood case along with the ability to print on the inside of the product. Offset printing is applied to the sheet of adhesive paper that a package is going to be covered with. You can gradiate the colors and create different print designs while keeping the feel of wood.
